The Accadians had a great competition last weekend. They brought home a 3rd place in military and dance routines, 2nd places in hip hop and lyrical and a 1st place in kick routine!! Thank you all for your support!!

Start of another...

The 2009-10 Accadians have had a great year. As coaches we are so proud of this group of girls and everything they accomplished throughout the year. In March we had a blast in California at Nationals, a tiring week of tryouts for the new team and finishing the week with our year end showcase (I don't have any pictures :(

We'll get pictures up of our new team of 27 as soon as we get them! We are sad to end our year with this team but excited to begin one with the new team.

The Accadians went to Champion Dance & Drill Nationals in Santa Ana California this year. We took 2nd in military, 1st in dance, 2nd in kick and 1st in medium classification! On our down time we went to Disneyland, California Adventure park and the beach.

FOR ALL YOU GIRLS WANTING A HEAD START ON TRYOUTS, WE ARE HOLDING A PRE TRYOUT CLINIC ON MARCH 2ND AT 5:00 IN THE B.H.S. GYM. AT THIS CLINIC YOU WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO MEET THE COACHES AND GET ADVICE FROM THE COACHES AND FROM FORMER TEAM MEMBERS ON WHAT YOU NEED TO WORK ON FOR TRY OUTS!! Competition Season is done

The Accadians had a good season this year. Our team was made up of 10 sophmores, 6 juniors and 4 seniors. But even with such a young and new team we couldn't have been more proud of a group of girls and how far they came.
Here is how our Accadians did this year:

UVU 1st military, 2nd dance, 1st kick

Jordan 3rd military, 5th dance, 1st kick

Alta 3rd military, 2nd dance, 5th kick

Region 1st military, 3rd dance, 3rd kick... 3rd overall

State 4th military, 4th dance, 5th kick... 4th overall (I am going to double check those placings)

Homecoming came & gone

We had a very long and stressful week getting ready for our performances. It all paid off as the girls looked good performing their hip hop routine on Thursday night at the Burning of the B and they looked GREAT doing their kick routine at halftime on Friday night for the big homecoming game.

We were all so excited to hear that our president, Macy was announced as Homecoming Queen!

Homecoming will be next week. We had two of our seniors, Macy & Rebekah make into the top ten finalists for Homecoming Queen! Next week will be extremely busy as we get ready for the performance at the Burning of the B and the half-time performance at the football game against Alta. Reminder to all those alumni Accadians that we will be having our annual alumni dinner out on the back grass by the portables before the football game at 5:30 PM.

We're Back

We said goodbye to our region champion team with a wonderful showcase in March and welcomed a new team that we are so excited to be working with. So far we have already put in many early hours of running, kicking, kicking and more kicking! We have been busy with our annual yard sale and golf tournament in the summer and now getting ready for the competition season to come! We have also welcomed a new assistant this year, Emily!

The Accadians went to Orlando Florida for the national competition this year. They took 1st place in dance, 1st place in military & 1st place in kick. They also were awarded overall best in category for their military routine and overall best in medium category. Great job girls!! We had a lot of fun.

UVU COMPETITION

We had another very exciting competition!!! The UVU competition was held this last Friday, our dancers performed very well and we are very pleased with the improvements that they are making. At this competition we were awarded 3rd in Military, 3rd in Dance routine and 1st in Kick line. We also received an award for the most creative routine with our kick line and we won

Bountiful Competition

We have made it through two competitions now!! The Bountiful competition was December 19th & 20th. The Accadians were amazing and their coaches are definitely proud to be their coaches! We came home with a 2nd in officers, 2nd in lyrical, 2nd in military, 3rd in dance, 1st in kick and the

First Competition

The Utah Beet Classic at Jordan High School was December 12th & 13th. We are very proud of the girls for their accomplishments at this competition. Officers routine placed 2nd. Lyrical took 3rd. Military placed 5th. Dance placed 4th and our kick routine took 2nd.

We want to congratulate Bristal for taking 2nd in the jazz division in the solo competition! She also had the highest score in the 12th grade jazz.

Christmas Party

We had our Christmas party December 11th. Thank you to all the parents for everything you did to make this a wonderful event. The girls loved all the gifts, as we seem them wearing them just about every morning.

UNITY

Last night we held a team unity night. Because we are starting to prepare for competition we felt it was important for our girls to know how much we believe in them. As coaches are so proud of our dancers, we have so much confidence in this team and we know it is going to be a fabulous year!!! We had a good time together setting team goals and watching some old videos. We set a theme for our unity night, BELIEVE. We want the team to believe, believe in themselves, in there teammates and in there ability to win. We feel like last night went really well. We hope that your daughters came home with a drive to do better and a newfound confidence within themselves! We love each of these dancers and hope that they know that, this team would not be what it is without everyone single of them.

Homecoming

Wow the Accadians never cease to amaze me! We recently had our homecoming football game, and of course our remarkable halftime performances. The girls had decided at a team that, although the dance was not yet ready, they wanted to perform there kick line routine. So the Friday before the performance we held an extra practice to LEARN the dance!!! With one week to clean and perfect this routine Haeli and I were more than stressed out! But we believed in our dancers, we knew they could pull it off. We spent many long hours practicing that week, the girls worked so hard it was unbelievable! All the hard work definitely paid off, we could not be more proud of there performance, it was incredible. Not only did it put Haeli and I in tears, the D.J. playing the music was crying also!!! The crowd also loved it; we have had so many wonderful compliments.
We just want to let everyone know how proud we are of these girls; we know that they will do wonderful this year, and we are so grateful to be coaching them!

Football Mini Clinics

We had a great turnout for our Accadian mini clinics this year. It consisted of dancers between the ages of 3 and 15. Our mini Accadians practiced Wednesday and Thursday night a routine which they performed at the half time show for the Brighton football game on September 5th. Our girls had a lot of fun getting to work with younger dancers and we will keep you posted as to when our next mini clinics will be for the upcoming basketball season.

TREMAINE

A few of my girls had the opportunity to attend the Tremaine Dance Convention this year. I always love my girls to attend this convention, it gives the girls an opportunity attend classes with professional teachers and just enjoy themselves. Tremaine teaches the girls so much about dance outside of Drill Team, which i feel is very important. The convention was held in Las Vegas and we had so much fun!!!

SUMMER CAMP

We attended Basic Dance Training this June as a team, it was a wonderful experience for all of our dancers. Camp gave our new team the opportunity to bond with each other, and gave the new members a small glimpse of what Drill Team is all about. During camp the girls had many different classes including Drill Team technique, jazz, hip-hop, lyrical etc... They also learned a couple dances all together, we have performed there Camp Dance and another dance they learned called Creeps. I think that the girls really enjoyed themselves, and had a good time at camp this year.
